The Bromer Suite.
Poestenkill, NY: Kaldewey Press, 2023 (but 2022). Kaldewey, Gunnar. Octavo. (11)ff., loose. One of ten copies, signed by Kaldewey, and printed by him for the occasion of his 2023 exhibition at Bromer Gallery. The suite compiles examples from Kaldewey's latest books, "Four Poems" by Emily Dickinson and "Seven Poems" by Ikkyu Sojun, with five woodcuts from the latter's deluxe suite, tipped onto blue paper. The representative texts acknowledge, first, something of an inside joke between Bromer and Kaldewey; the text from the Sojun book is the page on which Bromer noticed a misspelling. Second, the texts acknowledge the longstanding friendly feeling between the two, because Sojun's musings on loneliness are immediately refuted by Dickinson's "Width of Warmth disclosed - And Wealth - and Company." Sheets held loosely in paper chemise, protected by glasseine. Mint. Item #31769
