Signed by composer, Bun-Ching Lam. Lam had been commissioned to compose a piece for the Cross Sound Festival in Alaska, and took inspiration from three of Hölderlin's poems to write three songs for soprano. The book presents the original poems as letterpress text on purple handmade paper. Facing them are etchings, four total, of Lam's preliminary sketches for the compositions, which feature not only musical notation but also words in German, English, and Chinese. Bound in full dark blue leather with silver stamping. Fine. Laid in is a CD on which is a recording of the music's premiere in Sitka, Alaska in 2000. Item #31761
