Borges' long poem, in its original Spanish, is printed in silver on folded purple Chinese paper. Set atmospherically alongside Borges' verses are ten inlaid metalcuts, seen through die-cut circles in each page's upper half. Each illustration shows the moon in full or in part, giving the impression of the passage of time, perspective, or both. Bound in full blue paper over boards by Thomas Zwang, with inlaid silver print again showing a textured moon. Housed in chemise and slipcase. Fine. Sheet with German translation laid in at rear.
